Got fed up with the weather, your job, the b***** government? Fancy a new life elsewhere? If you do then why not see if you can emigrate to another country. Millions of others have done it before you.
Where to go?
Well the easiest thing to do is up sticks and move to another part of the UK. No problems, apart from finding a job and somewhere to live. People are doing it everyday.
Not far enough away? Well why not try another country in the EU or the EEA the rules for living in these countries are simple and any social security contributions you make whilst there will count towards your UK account should you decide to return here. Equally your UK contributions will count towards the system in your chosen country. For more information contact your local Jobcentre plus, connexions or DWP office and ask for leaflet SA 29 for full details. The most important thing to remember is that, under the Treaty of Rome, which set up the EU, is that you have the right to work and hence live in any EU/EEA country.
If you intend to go further away still Australia, New Zealand, USA etc then you will need to contact the Embassy or High Commission of the country you are thinking of going to.
If you're thinking about a working holiday then the rules and regulations are different from those wishing to move to one of these countries permanently.
Whatever you decide to do think very carefully about what you want to do and where you want to go before jumping in with both feet because it's a long way back.
