Every country in the world has its own form of currency. The word currency can be used to describe the money that is used in a specific country. The currency that we use here in the United Kingdom is referred to as pounds sterling (£), and new pence (p). The currency used in other countries may differ to the notes and coins that we use here in the U.K.
